To close out my section about my European adventures, I wanted to share and highlight some of my favorite stories/ moments. Some you may have already read, but some will be new. In no particular order, here they are! When we first arrived in London, the back door of our AirBnB apartment wouldn't lock. We … Continue reading Europe Favorites
Wow. Four weeks in Europe literally flew by. A month seems like a lengthy amount of time, but when you consider all the things we saw and did, well, that time was gone in an instant. Now almost a year and a half later, as I reflect on this trip, I am still in awe … Continue reading Goodbye for now, Europe.
We left Rome heading for our final destination: Paris, France. We took a Cab from Arches BnB and headed toward the Rome Fiumicino Airport. We made it through security quickly and were soon on our flight to Paris. Our 2 hour 15 minute flight was uneventful. We arrived at Charles de Gaulle Airport, and headed … Continue reading Air Italia
Summer nights in Rome are pure magic. Three of my most treasured memories of this adventure happened at night. Venice, Rome and Paris in the evening were some of the most magical places and things I experienced. We started our evening with a delicious meal in the non touristy part of Rome. We realized this … Continue reading On an Evening in Roma
You know when you stumble on that hidden gem and it ends up being one of your new favorite places? That's what happened when we found Castel Sant' Angelo. Christina and I were looking for somewhere to go on a free afternoon, and Christina researched Castel Sant' Angelo. It is located near The Vatican and … Continue reading Castel Sant’Angelo
No trip to Rome is complete without visiting the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. I won't lie, I was slightly disappointed in the size of the Colosseum... I was anticipating it to be much larger, however, I was not prepared to hop off the Metro at the Colosseo stop, walk out of the station and … Continue reading Ancient Rome
We enjoyed seeing the "Share a coke with..." all throughout Europe, but were most successful with our findings in Rome. You can buy just about anything with the Pope's face on it when you are in Rome. These were our favorite... and they were an homage to The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Definitely a win-win situation.
After our first fiasco with lodging was sorted out, Rome quickly became my favorite city of our trip. Sadly, several large tourist destinations were covered in scaffolding for repairs/ renovation. We were not able to see the Spanish Steps or the Trevi Fountain in all their glory. I suppose that means that I will have to … Continue reading Roamin’ Through Rome
If you've been following along, then you will have just finished reading about our less than wonderful start to our week in Rome. Well, once we hopped in our Cab and zipped through the streets of Rome and arrived at our new lodgings, things started looking up! We booked our next 5 nights at Arches Inn and … Continue reading Roma… the Eternal City!
After our first eventful evening in Rome, it couldn't possibly get worse, right? WRONG. We had gone to bed, and I truly wondered, why I'd ever wanted to come to Rome. It had not lived up to my hopes and dreams. I hated Rome. I stepped out onto our balcony that first night and couldn't … Continue reading Roma… the disappointing city, Part 2.
