Grand Turk Snorkeling Adventures

We knew we wanted to try snorkeling at some point on our trip, and decided that Grand Turk was the perfect place to try.  We were glad with our choice when we dropped anchor in Grand Turk and it was just gorgeous!

We booked our trip through Carnival, and were happy with our experience.  I will say, I remembered the water in the Caribbean being warm like a bathtub.  Grand Turk was definitely not as warm.  So that was slightly disappointing.  Our snorkeling destination, however, was not disappointing.  If you’ve seen the movie Finding Nemo, where we snorkeled was basically like the “drop off” from that movie.  It was insane.  We also snorkeled with two sharks (and even got to pet one of them).  Talk about a crazy experience!  Cool, crazy, insane, amazing… you name it, we felt the emotion.

The shark looks small in the picture, but I promise, he was 5 or 6 feet long.  Thankfully he was minding his own business and didn’t bother us.

After our snorkeling adventure, we made our way to the beach in Grand Turk and found this man selling fresh coconuts.

I swear, it was one of the best things I’ve ever had in my life.  Also, the above picture is one of my favorites that Christina has taken… the two ships in the background, the gorgeous water, the refreshing coconut… it pretty much sums up cruise life in one fantastic photo.  Thanks, Christina for capturing this moment!

Grand Turk was a huge success!  Stay tuned for more fun in the Bahamas!
