Green Gables

Any Anne of Green Gables fan can imagine the sheer excitement we had upon visiting Anne’s iconic house.  Let me tell you, it did not disappoint.  You are able to take a self guided tour of the house, Lover’s Lane and the Haunted Woods.  I can’t even fully put into words the inexpressible joy we had wandering around these fantastic places.  Instead I will just share the pictures.  After all, a picture is worth a thousand words, right?!

When we arrived we were greeted by two different Anne’s.  We obviously had to get pictures with both.

Some shots of the outside of Green Gables as well as a couple shots from inside.

I’d like to imagine this is elderly Anne and Gilbert coming back for a trip down memory lane at Green Gables.

Love all the details– including the broken slate smashed over Gilbert’s head!

Wandering the grounds around Green Gables, we made our way down Lover’s Lane and The Haunted Woods.  We even found L.M. Montgomery’s grave.

If you are venturing to PEI, definitely plan time to see Green Gables.  Even if you aren’t an Anne fan.  This is part of PEI culture and history and well worth the visit.  Definitely give yourself at least 2 hours, especially if you want to walk the nearby trails (which I highly recommend doing).
