If you find yourself in Prince Edward Island, I cannot recommend Prince County Bed and Breakfast enough. We had a hard time booking a place on PEI. When we researched, we knew we wanted to splurge and stay somewhere Anne themed or at a B&B. When we were planning our stay, there were hardly any lodgings with availability. This made it difficult to plan (and we were slightly confused why lodgings were so hard to come by- we learned upon arrival on the Island that our stay coincided with a Country Music Festival). However, we found Prince County and saw they had availability, and it looked like a charming place, so we booked our stay.
From the moment we arrived, we felt wonderfully at home. We showed up after a lengthy drive, and were greeted by Herb, one of the fantastic hosts/ owners of Prince County. He was such a pleasant, kind man. He helped us get settled, gave us some tips about local events and activities, and even gave us some recommendations of places to eat nearby. Somehow, our room ended up getting upgraded, and we stayed in literally the most beautiful room/ suite possible. We stayed in the McKenzie Suite and could not have been happier. We had a deluxe King sized bed, a separate room with a couch, fridge, and microwave, and a bathroom. I’m pretty sure the room was bigger than my college dorm room. As you can tell from this picture, we were very pleased with our accomodations!
Every morning we were provided with a delicious breakfast downstairs in the dining room. I wish I had taken pictures of the tasty foods made for us every morning- it was fantastic! Staying at a B&B, we weren’t sure how we would find our breakfast companions, but we ate every morning with wonderful people from all over. Our first morning we ate breakfast with a sweet elderly couple. The woman’s grandmother was a particular friend of L.M. Montgomery herself. What an especially neat way to begin our stay here! All of our other breakfast companions were just as pleasant. It was truly a fun way to begin every day catching up with our newly made friends and recapping our days adventures from the prior day. Whenever I find myself back on PEI, I will certainly be staying at Prince County again. We felt fairly centrally located (we could get to most any part of the Island within 45 minutes), loved the ownership, felt very welcome, and had great, quality food and pleasant interactions with all we encountered. Definitely receives a 5 Star rating from me!
Here are some pictures of our room. I know they aren’t the best quality, but they are a glimpse into the marvelous room we called home during our stay!
